Can You Practice All ???

Dentist, complete general dentistry then their specialized field (Maybe Orthodontics), I would like to know if you can practice them all ???

No. Once you become a specialist, you are required to limit yourself to doing only the procedures involved in that particular specialty.





For example, if you complete a post-grad program in orthodontics and become an orthodontist, you are not allowed to do things like extractions, fillings, root canals, crowns and bridges, etc. even though you know how (having learned it in dental school).





If you are a specialist and you were found to be doing procedures outside the scope of your specialty, you might get in hot water with the state dental board (the government body that handles licensure and regulations).
Reply:A dentist can only practice genreal dentistry. But if they start specializing in ortho dentistry they can not go back and prective general dentistry again.
