I went to the orthodontics last Tuesday and I'm going again tomorrow. I'm supposed to be getting a brace but I don't know when. Last Tuesday the orthodontist looked at my teeth, then I got an xray and the mould done. What am I likely to get done tomorrow? (I don't need any teeth out or anything I don't think)
Orthodontics?
It is unlikely to be that quick....I didn't get my braces until 5 months after I had my x-ray and mould done. They are probably going to report back to you about the mould and x-ray, and what they can offer you in terms of treatment. And the orthodontist doesn't take the teeth out, your dentist does that.
Also, BTW, it doesn't take 3 hours, I had the top and bottom put on the same day, and it took about 25mins-half an hour.
Reply:Just thought I'd say that I went to the dentist and am getting a brace on this Monday coming, just over 2 weeks later but thanks anyway. I suppose it jsut depends what dentist you go to and how long the waiting list is to how long the wait will be. (: Report It
Reply:it sounds like hes already done an assesment on you, with the xray...and already taken a moulld? id guess that youll be getting them on very soon...unless he just wants to meet with you again to confirm a date to get them on and discusss payment options, that kind of thing.
when you do go in to get yours braces on, if they do top and bottom in one day - youre in for a long haul. it took me like almost 3 hrs or so.
Reply:You'll need to have spacers between your back teeth for a short time before you have braces fitted
They're little rubbers pieces that part your teeth very slightly so that it doesn't hurt when your brace is fitted
Reply:Its likely they will put on spacers and bond the brackets to your teeth and tie colors ligs on for the sake of looking not too metal.
On your next appointment they'll take off spacers and put on the bands around your first molars. Than they can have the archwires put on, than tightened and the retention process begins which will make your gums feel sore for about a week.
Hope that helps. :)
