I need to write an essay for Governors Honors Program.. it's like this thing where you get nominated and go to a college for 6 weeks and learn stuff... lol... but anyways... I'm going in math %26amp; I need to write an essay and was wondering what kind of different relationships there is between math and orthodontics... Help anyone?

Math and Orthodontics/Dentistry...?
When you learn to become an orthodontist you have to learn the science behind how braces work. The metals used in the brackets, wires, and elastics have different properties. Also, there are biomechanical principals such as application of forces that are important to understand.

While orthodontists may not be solving math equations on a daily basis, it is needed to form the basis in understanding how it all works.

Knowing how to count the teeth does help, too.
Reply:Well, being able to count would be about the only connection I can think of between math and braces.

Count the number of teeth and then count out the number of bands needed to cover the teeth.
