Stripping in Orthodontics?

I need to write a seminar(or presentation) about stripping techniques in Orthodontics for my class. So please can you tell me how this is done and is there any other sources on internet to read.

Thanks.

Stripping in Orthodontics?
If your orthodontist sees that you are missing only a few millimeters for your front lower teeth to have place, he might choose not to move other teeth and to get the 2 mm by reducing the width of your 4 anteriors by 0.25 mm on each side. Then there will be 0.5mm between each tooth so that those teeth can then be moved back in line. Afterward, he can give you a removable appliance to push the teeth in place.

To keep those teeth aligned, he usually will put a lingual wire holding those, because else the tongue and lip (wich were used to have a rest position), will try to push those teeth back where they were, to get back this rest position.
Reply:The orthodontist (or their assistant) should also polish the 'stripped' teeth with some fluoride paste afterwards, and recommend the patient to use a high fluoride gel for brushing their teeth, to strengthen the stripped enamel.

Look up any good ortho text, like Proffit.
