Any one have personal experience of orthotropics (as opposed to orthodontics)?

What age did it begin? How long did it last? Is it straightforward? About how much did it cost? Thanks!

Well I am currently getting something related, that can be used on teenagers, meant to expand and correct the dental arches(creating a more beautiful smile and face in the process). I'm 16. THe process is usually fast and should be done in a year. *this treatment* is usually offered by supporters of orthotropics. The results aren't as good, but they're good and can easily avoid the need for surgery.

However true(full blown) orthotropics, needs to be started before 11 usually(for boys), and preferably younger! (though the methods can still correct bad bites and avoid the need for surgery in significantly older patients)Depending on the severity of the problem it can take a long time, but the results are truly fantastic! How long? Anywhere from 2 to 7 years! My little sister, is getting orthotropics at my recommendation(I discovered it a year ago. she's 9).

You can always find more info at orthotropics.com, fasttrax, and google :P.

The cost is usually slightly less than regular orthodontics.

Are you a parent or are you considering it for yourself?

Either way, I say you should have it done. It's a hard process but worth it.

Edit: As I recall, i know a young girl who had it done! She looked very odd back in the second grade, but she's quite lovely now. Every child has the potential to grow attractively.
Reply:Don't know what they are.
