If you live in Oregon, then that's where you will have to go. Once you have the corrective braces on your teeth you have to be checked every 4 to 6 weeks. You will have to ask for a student discount, that probably depends on the orthodontist. You can go and get a consultation for free. They will talk to you about the plan of treatment and costs.
