My daughter doesn't have enough room in her mouth for all of her teeth... they are in the process of fitting her with a palate spreader and space maintainers on her bottom jaw. They are also going to put braces on her top front 4 teeth... to pull the front 2 back and the second 2 forward - they came in behind where they're supposed to be. I've heard different stories about how painful this is going to be for her, and I'm wondering exactly what we're looking at for the next 5 or so years. All of the manuevering is supposed to be finished by next summer... so is she going to keep space maintainers until all of her adult teeth come in? I know they want to put her in full braces at that point. How do they keep all of this going for so many years?
