Orthodontics--can you get a permanent retainer or appliance, for teeth that keep moving after braces?

I've heard of permanent retainers, and I think it's my only option, because I can't keep wearing braces and/or Invisalign over and over! I got braces at age 40, and they say that's why they won't stay put. In fact, they started to move even when I was wearing my retainers religiously. Any help would be appreciated.

YES PATIENTS THAT ARE USUALLY TREATED POST TEENAGE YEARS NEED PROLONGED RETENTION OR EVEN INDEFINITE RETENTION. THE REASON IS THAT TEETH AND SURROUNDING TISSUES DONOT READILY ADAPT AS FAST AS YOUNGER PEOPLES' TISSUES DO. THE RATE OF BONE TURNOVER IS VERY SLOW. THUS TEETH TEND NOT TO ADAPT IN THE NEW POSITIONS READILY. THE IDEAL FOR ADULT CASES IS FIXED RETENTION IE A SMALL THIN WIRE THAT IS CEMENTED IN POSITION ON THE INNER ASPECT OF YOUR TEETH USUALLY FROM CANINE TO CANINE TOOTH AND CAN BE DONE IN BOTH JAWS. THE LIFE SPAN OF THE CEMENT IS ANYWHERE FROM 5 TO 15 YEARS. IT MAY NEED TO BE RECEMENTED IF IT BREAKS, BUT IT IS BETTER THAN HAVING BRACES AGAIN. IF KEPT CLEAN THERE IS NO RISK OF TEETH GETTING ROTTEN OR OF GUM DISEASE.
Reply:yeah you can get a permanent retainer
Reply:yea you can get a permanent retainer on the bottom which is basically a metal line across the bottom of the front teeth, its pretty successful and it stays in place very well just need new glue every now and then, but i think there is the same thing for the top but it might be kind of annoying to start
Reply:stellah I just heard you here...check this news!
