Do military spouses get orthodontics?

My husband just swore in again today and now that we get dental,i was wondering, can i get braces that they will pay for or is it consider cosmetic and i will have to still come outta my pocket with the money even though we're military

I doubt very seriously you will get covered for braces. Unless it is a deformity or handicap. My sister is married to a military man and now has dental..and she has had the worst luck with her teeth. She had a tooth that was really bad and was abscessed. She needed a root canal..but with the dental..she would still have had to pay about $600 out of pocket! ridiculous! She ended up getting it pulled and I think that cost her about $150 out of pocket.
Reply:We have the military insurance too! We have to pay for my sons braces and they are medically necessary! I hope this helps!
Reply:If your base has a good sized dental clinic your hubby could ask if the do braces..sometimes the military docs have to do proceedures to stay current,,,you may luck out..

Otherwise you go out of pocket..

good luck
