What is orthodontics?

Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that is concerned with the study and treatment of malocclusions (improper bites), which may be a result of tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships, or both. The word comes from the Greek words ortho meaning straight and odons meaning tooth.

Reply:they specialize in the straightening and general beautification of teeth, specialties include braces and head gear to keep teeth from grinding

Reply:it is similar to dentistry, but it has to do with braces, retainers, head gear, etc.


mainly, it helps to straighten out teeth or make it look better (supposedly anyway)
