How big of a turnoff is braces on a 20yo guy?

My teeth were way wretched growing up and my parents never would follow through with my orthodontics. I just decided to handle it myself at age 19 and my teeth look really straight now but I have to wear them till I'm 21years and 8months old. I am extremely self conscience about them and don't even bother talking to girls unless I am inibreated (sad I know). How big of a turnoff is this to you girls? BTW: I am extremely satisfied with going through with this. I would hardly talk to people when I had my crooked teeth.

The right people will not care if you have braces because they truly care about YOU. The people that are so shallow to not give you a chance because of your teeth aren't worth your time anyway.


The people who do matter won't judge you and the people who don't matter will. just remember that.

Reply:Well, I'll be honest and say it's not my favorite thing. But, it's all about the attitude... if you have a personality and are ok with it then whatever- that could be a turn on.
Reply:It's not that big of a turnoff, it's a hell of a lot better than having messed up teeth!! I know a 47 yr. old who has braces, so don't worry!!
Reply:i don't know about other females but it's no biggy even if you had to have them in longer than you said atleast you are taking care of yourself to make you feel better just know that if a female seems nasty to you becuase of your braces then she's not the one for you you'l find someone with or with out them to inbrace who you are
Reply:I met my husband when he was 23 and he had braces for the first year and a half that we dated. I thought they were very cute, actually! And now his teeth look great.
