I'm tired of these braces on my teeth?

I'm 51 years old and I've had metal braces for 2.5 years. They were relatively cheap through the local orthodontics college. I am so tired of them. I haven't been kissed in all the time I've had them, plenty of attaboys.

Reply:Chewing sugarless gum like trident makes your teeth move faster. I only had braces for 9 months!!
Reply:Did the orthodontist go over your treatment plan with you. Did you get an estimated time of wearing them. I see from your question that they were placed by students at the orthodontic college. I'm sure you are being supervised by the specialist. Now-a-days two and one half years is quite a while to wear them. There are so many new options,such as the plastic mouth pieces that you wear daily. They are nearly invisible. Anyway even the metal ones are more noticeable to you than others. You are probably really self-conscious about them, right? Is money an issue? If not you may want to go to another orthodontist. You could have them removed and have another treatment plan.
