What is the best run country in the world and why....?

And please....don't mention America...I know there are great countries in Norway/Sweden/Denmark who have amazing social systems...just want to hear more about places who really look after the people.

EG: Did you know that Denmark has dentists in the SCHOOLS. Every child has their teeth, including orthodontics (braces) looked after the entire time they attend school....for free.

What is the best run country in the world and why....?
I haven't done enough research to be able to answer this truthfully, but wherever you go, I'll follow, honey! You got my vote!
Reply:Bermuda...it's laid back
Reply:the uk is the best country ever because...
Reply:Mexico. They just let the US take care of their people for them. How smart is that?
Reply:You are misguided. The USA is the greatest country on earth. Social services are not a measure of a good country. Nothing is free. Someone in Denmark is paying high taxes to support the dentist.

The social service programs are slowly bankrupting the nations you mentioned. The UK has socialized medicine. The service provided is free but awful.

The best measure of a country is the freedom the people have to be all they can be.
Reply:Is amsterdam a country? My vote goes there. haha. And Ireland is an excellent country, and I hear that it's getting better every day.
Reply:I wouldn't put americia so high. there other countries run better. netherlands, germany, switzerland i think most eruopean countries do rather well.
Reply:The answer is Japan, but the Netherlands comes close.

The netherlands because of their social care (including prison) system - like you metioned about Denmark too.

However, the Japanese are the best run society in every angle of progressiveness, if you bear in account that they are an island marked by no natural resourses (such as oil) and have raised a nation to be the most advanced in technology and education. Research a little on the Japanese social structure and you will understand what I mean. They also have the oldest living people in the world.
Reply:Mexico, because if they have a problem they can dump it on the USA, or have the USA pay for it.
Reply:Monaco!

On the southeast French border, next to the Med Sea. What makes it such a great country, probably, is the total population of about 32,000 - they can't cause too much trouble. :)
Reply:each coutry has there grand points and there bad sides also.

englan has a good social system also scandanavia has been reported to have the healthiest living the last few years, but it is also arctic cirlce living also, the inuit have a very healthy make up also, but both suffer from fuel aquiring problems and the expense is high there. the u.s.. has its problems, asia has theres and eastern europe has there own also. so the queastion arisen has to be answered this way what are you looking for in best country to live and what do you not want involved in youur living there. then you can begin to seek what you are asking frm there but a general answer on the question is almost impossible.

other countries have public medical care also and some ven have some of the best care in the world for free. so it is for you to say what you actually seek rather than someone say this is best country to live in
Reply:1) Western Europe. Pick any country. It will have a system that is far better than the rest of the world.

2) Canada, Japan, Isreal, Russia, etc. The rest of the republics in the 'first world'. With the exception of the U.S.

3) And, in dead last among civilized nations, the U.S. with it's antiquated notions about health care, drugs, crime, war and foriegn policy.

I'm embarassed by my fellow countrymen when I go abroad. I find that the least educated, least polite, most overbearing person in the room is usually an American. I wouldn't put America in the top 40 countries on the globe. It's sad, but we brought this on ourselves.
Reply:Denmark has the highest income tax rate, with its top-taxed citizens paying 68% of their hard-earned crowns. The basic tax rate begins at 42%.

Norway and Sweden would be among the best candidates as their tax rates are lower and standard of living as high as Denmark's.

For a list of the top ranked countries....see http://www.heritage.org/research/feature...
Reply:The Kingdom of Bhutan would get my vote. Instead of a "Gross National Product" (GNP), this tiny country has a "Gross National Happiness" index which ensures that all of its citizens are happily content with their society. -RKO- 08/26/07
Reply:I don't know if best run is the greatest criteria for citizenship. Even here in the USA we were free to choose a leader even if he turned out to be a weak choice. The ability to include freedom of expression, self governance, education, and access to health and opportunities I am fond of the Netherlands.
Reply:I would love it if i could sell my house for a profit move to Canada. Goldie Hawn was there when her son played Hockey , she said where you pay $3,00.00 for a mirror etc. in the states Canada charges you about $70.00. I don't know what their new prime Minister is Republican or Democrat but if that one Bush was with last week is the one Condi is after, that is one thing I don't blame her for. Wow, is good looking just everything about him looks mighty fine.
Reply:Definitely not Germany. Between 1994 and 2003 they prosecuted 105,678 people for "thought" crimes.
Reply:I think it has to be Italy and France also Norway, they give alot of incentives for families. Especially Norway they have days off for families and look after the needs of family members. In Italy there and France schools provide at an elementary level cafeterias for young children. I have seen teachers bringing yes pasta and hot food to kindergarten students. There is more values emphasized on the importance and roles of children and family, they don't leave it just up to the parents. Governments encourage families by giving them more support in days off, especially sick days for children.
Reply:Utopia is the 'BEST' country..It,s gotta be-cuz I just invented it.

In this country We have amazing parents, schools, hospitals. Serious Illness does not exsist,Everyone lives and lets others live. The government doesnot make its self prominent in every asspect of ones life-or in any other country. There,s No need to.Everyone cares about their country/home/their neighboring countries, all over the globe,Even space is not governed or fought over.We would be Self-sufficient,non polluting.Wars, senseless crimes, death are non exsisent..

maybe I,m thinking of Heaven not a country.

I give myself 100 pts for that thought/expression..

As for dennmark/dentist:I think this is a good thing. You train others students from that school and other colleges/trade schools in all types of feilds[hands on education] fellowman helping fellowman.

Do you want to live in my country?I,m inviting you~

Bright Blessings from Utopia..and it,s developer Diane =)
